The Lorenzo Perosi choral association, with the
patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the
local Council and the Provincial Olbia-Tempio,
organizes from September 29th to October 04th 2009 in Olbia (Sardinia) the 15th International Sacred Music Choir Festival
The festival is open to all interested choirs that will
fill in and send the application form attached hereto.
Choir’s repertoire is non restrictive. Compulsory
pieces are not requested. Each choir has to
indicate the music genre of their pieces on the
application form. The music genre can be more than
one.
Sacred repertoire;
Gregorian;
Profane polyphony;
Choral arrangements of folk songs, traditional
songs;
Spiritual, Gospel;
Opera pieces.
The sacred, spiritual and gospel repertoire will be
held in the town’s or region’s churches while the
profane and folk repertoire will also be held outdoor,
in squares or in public places.
On Sunday, 04th October at 11:00 am, all
choirs will accompany with a common repertoire the Holy
Mass which will take place in the Church of “Our Lady
of La Salette”.
The final timetable and performance locations will be
officialized and communicated to each choir within June
30th 2009.
This is a party which will take place on Friday, 02th
October 2009 at 09:00pm. Its aim is to allow the
participants to meet, get to know each other and have a
party together in a more relaxed way, outside the
concert sphere.
During the party each choir will sing a folk piece from
their own countries and then all together a Sardinian
folk song (the vocal score will be sent to you after
the acceptance of your application form). Refreshments
using local products will be served.
The town of Olbia is situated on the North-East coast of Sardinia. It is considered the official gateway to Costa Smeralda and to the breathtaking tourist locations of Gallura. You can reach the town in two ways:
▪ by plane: through the airlines operating on Costa Smeralda International Airport, departing from major Italian and European cities;
▪ by ferry: from Genoa, Livorno and Civitavecchia.
